Our social media volunteer found Jack one night in November 2025 on the way home from doing a round of street feeding. 

Down a side road she caught a glimpse of a dog curled up so pulled over to feed. It's not until she got closer that she saw the true condition of the dog. The dog couldn't stand properly, was emaciated and had a bad wound on his foot. Something about this boy meant that she couldn't leave him, so spent an hour trying to gain his trust. Victoria's husband came although it was very late and helped to take Jack back to the shelter

The next day we took Jack to the vets where we were told he is blind in one eye, had various blood parasites, as well as heartworm which will significantly shorten his life.

After months of treatment, Jack is now recovering very well. He has beat the blood parasites, the severe wound on his foot has healed, and we are slowly treating him for the heartworm.

Jack truly is a miracle!
